The boxes in the left hand menu allow you to filter what items are displayed. The literacy tool starts with everything displayed. You can select one or more categories, and you can also select just the most important items by selecting importance. This is especially helpful if you are learning a lot of new terms. Watch the numbers of items displayed to see how the different selections work.
The literacy tool also starts in "Flashcard" mode. The definitions provided are brief and do not refer to the item by name. More complete definitions are provided in "Full Definitions" mode. "Full Definitions" mode also makes it possible to sort the display according to different criteria.
